Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the challenges and opportunities in preparing for and responding to disasters in unserved, underserved, insulated, isolated and special needs communities and populations.
- Develop more effective pre-disaster plans that are inclusive of all citizens.
- Explain the appropriate application of federal and state guidance when planning and responding to these unique populations.
- Explain the concepts and practice of inclusive emergency management.
- Recognize the legal and regulatory implications and liabilities of not planning for and properly managing these populations.
- Create methodologies and practices to more efficiently plan, respond to and integrate all assets and resources to address the needs of all citizens under your care.
